Technical coatings for sculpture

I have for the first time had two of my welded metal sculptures nickle plated. It is similar to chrome looking. It makes a huge difference in looks. Before i would just lacquer the finished piece and that is a nice look but the plating really gives it that quality of completion.
     Below is a comparison of the nickle coated to the non nickle coated raw steel.
      Other metal sculpture coatings i look forward to working with are copper and gold. I would even go a step further to try enamel plating the copper to see if it works. I have never seen or heard anyone doing this process of enameling on copper plated steel.
