"The Thinker Twisted In Thought" aims to capture Rodin"s Thinker sculpture with reclaimed welded metals. It reflects the mental state of being so tied up in thoughts that the body actually feels like all the muscles are concentrated towards squeezing out answers.
The metal parts incorporated in this small sculpture are from discarded wire used to twist and hold rebar bundles together. These pieces of wire are discarded when the rebar bundles are cut free. I can collect such free resources at Home Depot where they throw out this thick gauge bailing wire. I usually get a puzzled look from the Home Depot employees when i walk right past the register and out the door with a large bundle of these. in hand.
