Bronze Octopus landscape water feature. Started Dec. 2018 Pictured here is A rock with a 5" hole drilled in it. The hole delivers water up and out at the top to cascade down the rock. The home owner was desiring to have the water flow more evenly over the rock and not just splash down in one area. We decided that I would make a bronze octopus to cover the hole and distribute the water around the rock. The water will be enter the octopus body and travel through the arms to exit at desired areas.
Onsite waxwork commences with many all-day visits to the location and work done at my studio.
Since the Octopus will have its arms wrapped around the rock I decided to cast the body first then fit the arms to it.
The holes in the bronze where the arms connect will be fed water lines. the water will flow through the octopus arms and flow to different areas of the rock.
Water distribution manifold being installed and octopus legs being worked on.
Tig welding on some of the octopus legs to join them onto the body.
