Material choices- What kind of metal do you want the sculpture to be welded from? What look, feel or material vibe do you want your sculpture to be? steel, stainless steel, copper and bronze are metals I am familiar working with.
Surface patina/ paint- What color or painted look do you want?: You can get ideas of surface patina/paint from looking at the sculptures in the gallery section on this site. Refer to specific sculptures that you like the look or color of.
Subject matter- Ok, you know what you want a sculpture of. Gather a few images that best illustrate what inspires you and what you want sculpted.
Size- This is the best place to start thinking about your commissioned artwork. If it’s a figure sculpture think in terms of 18 inches tall, 3 Ft. tall, life-sized figure etc. If it's a bust or face or wall hanging you want to measure the area where you think you might want to display the artwork and convey those measurements when ready.
Budget- Be very clear with yourself what your willing to spend on your commissioned sculpture. Your budget will determine the size, materials and complexity of the artwork.
Timeline- Depending on what i'm working on at the time and my calendar will determine how soon I can have your artwork ready.
